Server logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Aggregate analytics counts are kept for 24 months and then rolled up into a monthly summary with no individual events attached. Any email you send to the editorial team is kept until the conversation is closed, plus 12 months in case of follow-up questions, and then deleted.
This site collects the minimum needed to keep the pages working and to understand which articles readers find useful. That is: your IP address (truncated before it is stored), the pages you visit and the order you visit them in, the referring URL that brought you here, and a few technical details about your browser and device. We do not ask you to register, we do not collect your name, and we do not run a newsletter.
The third parties that receive data from this site are: our hosting provider (as part of normal server logs), our analytics provider (aggregate pageview data), and the affiliate network that routes clicks to Betbolt (referrer and click ID only, no personal data). We do not embed social sharing widgets that phone home before you click them, we do not run advertising pixels, and we do not sell traffic data.
The data listed above is used for three things. First, to keep the site up: hosting logs help us find pages that are broken or under attack. Second, to understand which pages readers actually read; if a page has no visitors for three months we deprecate it rather than let it rot. Third, to attribute affiliate clicks to this site so the operator knows the referral is legitimate. We do not use your data to profile you, to sell to third parties, or to target you with advertising elsewhere on the web.
We use a small number of cookies. A session cookie remembers whether you have dismissed the age-gate banner. An analytics cookie counts pageviews in aggregate. For any privacy request — access, correction, deletion — write to the editorial email listed on the Contact Us page and put PRIVACY at the start of the subject line. UK residents have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if they believe their data has been mishandled. We would rather you write to us first so we can fix the issue, but the regulator is always available.
If this notice is changed in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, the change will be described in a short note dated at the top of the page. Cosmetic edits — a typo, a broken link — are made without notice. The current version is dated Q3 2026.
